5 tablespoon honey
3 eating apples
1 tablespoon lemon juice
2 tablespoon finely chopped nuts.
milk or beaten egg to glaze
4 tablespoon white bread crumbs
cored and diced
2-3 tablespoon sultanas
1/4 1b puff pastry
Put honey in a pan and leave oven in low heat till dissolved. Remove from heat and stir in the other ingredients. Mix well together. Roll out the pastry very thinly and cut out in hearts shapes, cover with the other and seal the edges with milk. Place on a wet baking tray, brush with milk or beaten egg and bake in a pre-heated oven, 375c F, Gas MK 5, for 25 minutes, until golden. Cool on a wire rack and dust generously with caster sugar before serving.
